Blokes BBQ

 Friday all the guys headed down to Yatton park for a BBQ, ginger beer and games. We spent most of the day there and had so much fun. A fantastic way to end a good week.

 I had a great time at the park watching the guys stomping their rockets and helping to test out the vinegar soda bottle rocket. 

Chop fooey

in culture session today I tried my hand at using some chopsticks. I was surprised when I picked up a lolly! I enjoyed watching some Japanese dancing and a comedian. Ohayoo!

 I enjoued learning about Japan in culture studies, Christina even brought in her kimono

 I had an amazing trip to Classic Flyers with my friends - I enjoyed looking at all the different planes!

The “f” word

 In guys group today, we tried again to launch our “baking soda and vinegar” rocket using the remote. Firstly, the screw cap was loose so the vinegar leaked out. Then the baking soda didn’t fall all the way into the vinegar so it didn’t fizzle enough. After the fourth try, still no success. I really felt like a NASA engineer when their launches failed. Back to the drawing board....

Babas Turkish Cafe

 I love going to visit Lania at her cafe!

She welcomes us with open arms! and she treats us, she is amazing!

Latin dance

  Today we were very lucky to have some Latin dance experts come to show us a variation of different dances. It was so fun!

 Last Friday we visited kati kati to see a vintage collection and some vintage cars, it was awesome to see 100 year old engines running and look at all the old  gadgets

 in my guys group,  I tried my hand at making a car with magnetic blocks.

Kaka Street Playground

 i went for a really cool outing to kaka street playground and had a go on the merry-go-round. i span around a few times and had a blast.

 This morning in arts and crafts we have started painting our African masks, I've chosen orange for my mask!

I went on  nice outing to Welcome bay and enjoyed some fun in the sun at Waipu park.

BBQ at Tye Park

  today we had a blast at Tye Park, with a sausage sizzle and games! My favourite part was playing the bean bag toss!

In my sensory session, I went underwater with the mermaids in Weeki Watchee. I used the VR googles to see the sea creatures in the deep.

In my Guys Group outing, I went to the Chemist Warehouse to check out the latest in mens aftershave. I picked this one out (or at least my staff did!!!!) 

Unlocked Party

Last Friday I enjoyed a day long party at work celebrating being "unlocked" and the opening of a new area at work. I enjoyed eating a shared lunch and karaoke in the afternoon. I even dressed up for the occasion. 

The waterfront

Wednesday was such a lovely sunny day we decided to go on a outing to the strand waterfront. We walked along the waterfront up to the fountain. I wasn’t too keen on getting into the fountain! I enjoyed sitting in the sun watching my friends get wet.it was a great afternoon.

Here I am focusing hard and colouring in a beautiful picture. A great way to relax on a rainy day.

Mac n cheese

Today I came to Arohanui in very fashionable attire of tiger slippers. The staff placed this crazy rug around my shoulders. Everyone thought I looked like the wolf in red riding hood, dressed as the grandma!

On the Dark Side

In Guys Group today I had a go at playing Star Wars Family Feud. It was a little tricky to play with just two of us. Then after we finished, I listened to the Beach Boys.

Monopoly madness

Say what? Yesterday afternoon I played monopoly NZ edition in my Guys Group session. I almost won the game, missing the mark by only $3! If only I’d had more time.....
